1858-[after 1989]
Part of The Unitarian Church of Montreal fonds
This series contains records related to the Church property on the corner of Beaver Hall Hill and la Gauchetière street. It includes a handwritten ledger of costs associated with the construction of the second church building on the property from 1858, as well as photocopies of "Montreal then and Now" articles, about the church building, from the Montréal Gazette written in the 1980s.
The Church was located on this property from 1844 until 1905. During this time, the Church was housed in two buildings, one built in 1845 and another in 1858. The latter of these buildings was partially destroyed by fire in 1869 and rebuilt. In 1907 the congregation moved to the property located at the corner of Sherbrooke and Simpson streets.
